Things To Know

Rides leave COP McDonalds (across from Canada Olympic Park) - 8235 Bowridge Cres NW or ESSO on Barlow Trail & 32 Ave NE or Riverbend McDonalds (20 Riverbend Dr SE). The ride departure times vary due to the distance of each ride, so be aware of the posted leaving time. The reason for the 3 locations is for the ability to get out of Calgary without too much trouble, based on the ride direction

Have a full tank of gas prior to departure.

FYI - There will once again be a photo contest this riding season. The categories are Humor, People, Bike, and Scenery. Photo's must be taken on a motorcycle ride during the 2025 riding season. (not a non-motorcycle trip or vacation) Photo's must be submitted to Wade no later than the November 2025 meeting.

Please note: there is again a High Milage award - Any rider who clocks 10,000 km or more and attends 3 events on the Tour Schedule will qualify for the award. The Hard Luck award can be won as usual - but please don't try to hard to win this one!

2025 CMC Ride Schedule

April 13– Season Opener

Water Valley Saloon for lunch. This ride is a dual sport and asphalt ride. Everyone meets at the Esso on Barlow Trail NE. Side stands up at 10am.

April 27 - Hoodoos and Ghost Towns. (Drumheller and area) 

Meet at the Esso on Barlow Trail NE. Side stands up at 10 am.

May 10 - (Note this is a Saturday Ride) Didsbury Show and Shine

Check out the cars and wander the streets. Ride leaves COP McDonalds. Side stands up at 10am.

May 16, 17, 18, 19 - Annual Creston BC campout - Scotties RV Park and Campground

The twisties await! Ride leaves from Riverbend McDonalds. Side stands up at 9am.  NOTE: Confirmation with Wade is required for camping reservations.

June 1 - Two Wheel Sunday

Ride on down and check out the bikes and vendor booths 10-3pm. The CMC will have a booth and will be in charge of the Show and Shine.  Volunteers will be appreciated.

June 15 - Chain Lakes - Ride for Ice Cream

Ride leaves Riverbend McDonalds. Side stands up at 10am.

June 29 - No Guts, No Glory

Don't be afraid, embrace the bugs!  This is a picnic ride, so pack a lunch as we will be stopping along the way. Meet at Riverbend McDonalds, side stands up at 10am.

*This ride will require you to have the Kananaskis Conservation Day Pass. Please purchase this prior to the ride* You can do this online.

July 12 - Back in Time Museum - Youngstown Ab

Meet at Esso on Barlow Trail NE. Side stands up at 8:30am as this is a long ride (270km one way). Note: This is a Saturday and for those interested we can camp overnight

July 27 - Bearberry Saloon Bar and Grill (Sundre)

Meet at COP McDonalds. Side stands up at 10am.

Aug 3 - Riders choice day ride

Those who attend, decide where to ride. Meet at COP McDonalds. Side stands up at 10am.

August 9 - Ride to Reynolds Museum - Wetaskiwin Ab

Take in the museum, free today for riders!  Check out the many vendors and of course, the unofficial bike show in the parking lot! Given the distance, we need to leave early - Meet at Esso on Barlow Trail NE. Side stands up at 8:30am. A stop in Bowden for gas and whatever...

Aug 22, 23, 24

Enjoy a peaceful wilderness setting, nestled in the Alberta Foothills - courtesy of our hosts, Karen and Daryl There will be a ride leaving there on Saturday - leaving at 10am. This is a campout, or just come for the ride on Saturday.  More details will be posted on the members page closer to the event

Aug 29, 30, 31. Sept 1 – Dual Sport ride to BC

Come explore the back country! Note: this is a camping trip. Meeting place and details will be posted on the members only FB page prior to the event.

Aug 31 - Riders Choice Day Ride - for those who didn't go away for the long weekend.

You decide where you ride to. Ride leaves from Riverbend McDonalds. Side stands up at 10am.

Sept 7 - Crowsnest Pass Frank Slide Interpretive Center

See and hear firsthand what happened the night Turtle Mountain fell. There is an entrance fee to the center - currently $15 Adult, $11 Senior, Military $ free. Meet at Riverbend McDonalds. Side stands up at 9am.

Sept 21 - Bar-B-Que (note - the Flat Track date was changed by the association to Sept 28, so BBQ only this Sunday)

Kevin and Sharon have graciously offered to host the BBQ this year as the original plans have changed.  Details for the BBQ are on the private FB page for members only.

Sept 28 - Round 6 of the Alberta Flat Track Association

Enjoy the thrills and spills of this form of racing and support local motorcycling! Meet at the Esso on Barlow Trail NE. Side stands up at 9am.

Oct 5 - CMC Fall Colors Ride and poker run

I'm holding the cards - ride along to get your winning hand! Meet at COP McDonalds. Side stands up at 10am.
